deal. You run a company. I think I can let it slide." She kisses my cheek. “Do you need to talk about it?”

"We just have this client. His wife was taken from their home by an ex-employee. We're one hundred percent sure it was for revenge, but there hasn't been a call for ransom. It's fucking strange. Our client thinks it more personal than about money."

"Is this Ryan Davis? The billionaire?"

"Yeah."

"I heard about it on the news. He has like a ten-million-dollar reward for finding her. I remember reading about their wedding. They looked so happy. The whole thing is so sad."

"It is. The man is going insane without her and blaming himself. Can't blame him. He already had some of the best systems in place before he brought us in to help. We think it's someone close to him, but we're not even sure; she's just gone. I feel as if we're failing him."

She moves beside me and curls herself around me. "I'm sure you're doing everything you can."

"I don't know."

"Well, I have something that will brighten your mood. I got this in the mail this afternoon.” She digs through her purse and hands me an unsealed envelope. The seal is from Florida’s vital records.

"This came quicker than I thought."

“Matty is now officially Matthew Morgan." She kisses my cheek. "Congrats, Daddy. It's a boy,” she jokes.

"This definitely makes the day perfect." I grip her chin between my fingers, ready to kiss her when my phone buzzes in my pocket, ruining the moment.

Holly giggles and pulls back. "You should get that."

"I should ignore it." I press and move back towards her. Work can wait till the morning. She puts her hand over my mouth and shakes her head.

"Could be the sitter." She smirks.

“Our sitter is plenty capable, and she'd call you."

My phone buzzes again, and whoever is trying to call me is determined to get my attention.

"Just answer it so we won’t be bothered later."

I yank my phone from my pocket and snarl at my brother's name on the screen. "What does this motherfucker want now?"

"Who?"

"My brother. He keeps calling." I silence the ring and let the call go to voicemail.

"Maybe it's important."

"If it was, he would text." I put my arm around her, tucking her in closer to me. "Right now, all I want to do is think about you." My other hand works up her leg, underneath her dress to the inside of her thighs. She shifts, inching my fingers closer to her. "Are you wet for me, Red?"

She doesn't have to answer. I know.

"Yes," she says breathlessly. My finger traces over her covered slit, she's soaked. "Liam, we're at dinner."

"No one can see. Plus, I only want a little taste of what I'm getting later."

My phone buzzes on my nightstand just as I throw the cover over my shoulder.

What now?

I glance over at Holly who is sleeping soundly by the sound of her light breathing. After we got home from dinner, Matty was already passed out for the night. I hurried to thank Terry for watching him and took my girl to my room and tasted every inch of her skin. Then I fucked her till she passed out.

I lift my phone to see who could possibly be calling me at this hour and my brother’s name flashes on the screen just before the call ends.

Why hasn't he gotten the hint that I don't want to talk to him?

A moment later a text pops on the screen:

Landon: Call me when you get this and stop ignoring me.

I push the blankets off me and make my way to the balcony. The cool breeze of the evening whips across my face as I settle into the patio chair. The lake is quiet tonight. No boat lights bouncing on the water.

"Why are you calling me at this hour?" I growl quietly.

"I've been trying to reach you all day."

"Well, what do you want? I was half asleep."

"At eleven? You don't usually sleep that early."

"Did you call to argue my sleep patterns?"

“No…" His deep breath rattles through the speaker. “Bro, I haven’t been completely honest with you.”

“What are you talking about?”

"I wasn't sure if I was ever going to tell you, but it's been eating me up. Maybe I'm still wrong for telling you. Maybe I shouldn’t," he rambles. "Fuck," he yells and it’s followed by a loud bang.

"Landon, seriously, what is going on?"

“Just know the next thing I tell you, I’m doing because I haven't slept well in months. Ask Maria, I’ve lost like ten pounds.”

My interest peaks. No matter our issues the last thing I want is for my brother to suffer.

“What? Are you sick? Dying?”

“No. Nothing like that.” He sighs.

“Then what? You’re freaking me out.”

“It’s about Holly.”

CHAPTER SIXTEEN

LIAM

“It’s about Holly.”

What the fuck? Holly?

“What about Holly?” I grit out between my teeth.

“I was the one who met her at the Comic Con all those years ago, not you.”

His words bounce around in my ears. It can't be true. There's no way he said that.

“Excuse me?”

"When you mentioned sleeping with someone at Comic Con, I didn't think much of it, till you mentioned her name and a kid, then I freaked out. You see, I slept with Holly that night and used your name and your moves to do it, so it wouldn't get back to me."

“Are you fucking kidding right now?” I shout. The words echo off the glass of the patio doors. Then I curse at myself. The last thing I need to do is wake up the whole house, but fuck if I care; I feel as my whole world has imploded. "I
