can do with his mouth and his fingers would bring anyone to her knees. But then my body started pulsing, and my muscles tightened. Each suck on my clit sent me higher and higher until I could feel myself clenching, muscles clamping down from my navel to my core, but that’s where I stayed. My body shook, legs trembling and sweat glistening on my skin. And then he said those dreaded words that threw cold water on my body but did nothing to dampen my height of arousal.

“C’mon, Hayley, don’t do this.” I reprimand myself for diving into the negativity pool as I finally allow my fingers to sweep over my clit.

With my fingers still sweeping over my swollen flesh, I reach for the showerhead with my other hand. I change the setting so that it will pulse with a nice strong pressure, then sink further into the tub and place the jet on my clit. With my toe, I open the faucet and the water rushes out.

A low, long moan rips free from my mouth as I rest my head back on the towel. My legs fall apart, and I position the jet so that it pulses just where I want it. I think about Kade, about how he looks when he’s moving inside me. How his cock massaged that sweet, sweet spot over and over, bringing me so close to orgasm before I self-sabotaged. I feel the pulse, the clench and plunge into my orgasm. Kade’s name falls from my lips as I picture the way he sounds while he’s driving into me. My whole body jerks as pleasure rushes over me, and I come and come and come for the longest time.

I’m barely down from my orgasm high when I hear Kade’s ringtone come through my Bluetooth speakers. Talk about timing. I reach for the towel and dry my hands.

“Hi.”

“Hey, you sound out of breath. Did I catch you at the wrong time?”

I deliberate my answer, but my stupid mouth spews things out before I have time to stop it. “Uh, actually, I was um…taking care of things.”

He catches my drift immediately. “Yeah? Hayley, were you touching yourself?”

I blush. “I was.”

“What were you thinking about?”

His breathing is ragged.

“You.”

“What were you thinking about?”

“I was thinking about the way you sound when you’re inside me. The way your fingers look when they move inside me. The way your tongue—”

“Fuck, you’re killing me here.”

I bite my lip, feeling bad that he didn’t get to come last night. “Why don’t you, you know…get off?”

A groan tears free. “Fuuuck, that’s tempting, but I’m going to wait until I can come inside you.”

Oh damn. Everything clenches again, and I’m right back where I started just before I came—my body burning and needing release.

I’m also really nervous.

Chapter 30

Hayley

“Where are you taking me?” I laugh, but inside I am all swoony. Kade picked me up at my place, then proceeded to blindfold me so I couldn’t see where we were going.

“Just a little bit further.” He holds my hand tightly, guiding me as we walk on soft grass to goodness knows where as the blindfold blocks out everything.

I was more than a little surprised when he called me up a few hours ago and told me to dress casually because we were going out. No matter how much I nagged him to tell me where he was taking me, he kept a tight lid on his secret.

“If I twist my ankle, you’re going to have to carry me around everywhere. For a month,” I threaten.

I feel Kade’s lips on mine. “Gladly, but you aren’t going to twist your ankle.”

I hear the rush of water and frown. “Seriously though, where the heck are we?”

I hear the smile in Kade’s voice. “Take your blindfold off.”

I do and blink. Even though it’s midnight, having my eyes in total darkness for so long has me blinking in the moonlight. When I adjust to the light I gasp, taking in the blanket, picnic basket, fluffy cushions, and candles next to a moonlit waterfall.

“Oh my gosh, it’s stunning, Kade. Where are we?”

“Eaton Falls.” He beams at me. “Do you like?”

“I absolutely love.”

“How did you do all this? How did you set everything up?”

Kade looks sheepish. “I came here a few hours ago and bribed the security guard to let us use the park. I also left the picnic stuff with him and asked him to set it up for us here.”

I turn and throw my arms around his neck. “It’s perfect.”

“Madam.” Kade gestures to the blanket with a flourish, and I laugh. Sitting down, I watch him shrug off his leather jacket. I’m sorry to see it go because he looks all types of fine in leather, but then I note his gray T-shirt hugging his torso and I get over it. Fast. He starts unpacking the basket, and I smile at his choices. My favorite wine, the one he sent in the bucket of sunshine, raspberry truffles, the same ones I was eating the night we first collaborated together, cheese, crackers and…caviar. I wrinkle my nose.

“Something wrong?” His tone is amused.

I point to the caviar. “Do you like that?”

“Well, yeah, that’s why I brought it. You don’t?”

I shake my head. “Nope. No. Well, I haven’t tried it, but definitely not. If you’re planning on kissing me, I’d suggest you don’t have any.”

“Is that a threat, Miss Stephens?”

“Nope. It’s a promise,” I quip.

Kade opens the jar and scoops out a spoonful and spreads it on a cracker. With a mischievous glint in his eye, he pops the whole thing in his mouth.

“Oh, you’ve just gone and done it.”

He closes the jar and places the spoon on the lid. “I’m coming for my kiss now.” Kade crawls along the blanket.

I scoot back. “Don’t you dare!”

“No? Surely your passion for me should outweigh petty things like fish breath.” He waggles his eyebrows.

I shuffle further back, my hand landing on the damp grass as a nervous giggle breaks free. “I mean it, Kade.
