All In (Keep Breathing Book 2), стр. 75

in his sleep, his little foot kicks me in the groin. I groan, shoving his foot away, and cup my now achy balls.

“He’s such a wiggle worm.” Holly giggles. “You okay?”

“I’ll be alright.”

“You want me to kiss them better?” She smirks and props herself on her elbows.

“I would love that.” I wiggle my eyebrows and she giggles. It’s so good to hear and the sound is a better high then any pills could offer.

“How are you feeling? Besides the new ache to the balls?”

“Still sore. As long as I don’t move around a lot, I'll live.”

“What happened here?" She points to the bandage over my right pec. "Is this from the accident too?"

"No. I went out with Jaxson last night and got some ‘art.’”

“Art?”

“Yeah. Helped take my mind off a few things and put things back into perspective of what is important.” I peel back the large bandage and reveal the new ink I got.

“Oh my god, Liam.” She gasps and traces her finger underneath the fresh ink on my left pec. In black calligraphy, I have Matty's full name, along with the day he was born.

“What made you do this?"

“I felt I needed something permanent. Something to remind me you are my family, so I can’t forget again.”

Last night, I made it official for me, claiming Matty as my son—no matter what I know. It doesn’t matter. There is no way I’m telling Holly the truth now. Ever. As Landon should’ve done, the information will die with me. This is my family. My son. My girl, who will one day hopefully be my wife.

“I’m speechless.”

“There's plenty of room for more names.” I wink and grab her hand, pulling her close to me.

“Alright, slow down mister.” She laughs nervously. “Like wayyyyyy down.”

“Slow is underrated.” I tease. “We already have one, might as well go for more.”

Her head shakes vigorously, making her ponytail hit her cheeks. “Uh-uh. I think we can slow it down on that topic.”

“There's something I forgot to do yesterday.”

“What?”

“Tell you I love you, too.”

“I love you.”

“You’re too good for me, Red."

"I’ve missed you calling me that, and you have to stop saying that. I'm not all that."

"You are. Yesterday when I said you shouldn't have to deal with a fuck up like me, I meant it. What you saw yesterday was a bad day.” I take a deep breath. It’s an understatement. “And I can’t promise you it won’t happen again. That I won’t be worse or there’s never a chance of a relapse.”

“It’s not your call on what I can handle, mister. I'm here and I want to help you. We have all time to figure it out. Now you need to rest. I’m going to make us some breakfast.”

“Can't you just lay with me for a bit? Before Matty wakes again?”

“Yeah." She lays back down.

CHAPTER TWENTY

HOLLY

It’s been over a month and a half since Liam’s accident and all the stuff that surrounded it.

Liam’s ribs have healed and everything has gone back to normal. Almost.

He's still my Liam, the guy I fell in love with, the man who makes me smile. Lights up our son’s world...but I think he's back to his old coping mechanisms—work and sex. When he's not spending time with Matty or me, I find him working at odd hours. There are some nights I'm not sure if he sleeps. If I catch him, he tells me he has deadlines but crawls into bed with me…where we end up fucking till one of us passes out.

And…Holy...fucking hell if the sex hasn’t been out of his world.

I’m talking sensational, spontaneous, and hot. At work, I tend to always be his lunch and after Matty goes to bed, he loves me like I'm the only woman in the world and every day was our last day.

Who can complain?

It's just there is still something raging in the back of his mind. I see it when he’s left alone with his thoughts. This dreary, distant, glazed look. One he claims he gets because he's thinking too hard. I see it right now as I drift into his temporary office which he has made for himself on the newly renovated fifth floor. He's staring at something on his phone as he taps his pen on his desk.

"Okay, it's ready." I smile gleefully, sliding onto his desk.

He drops his phone and the look in his eyes fades away, like it does every time he sees me.

Liam slides his hand up my skirt. "What is?"

"Your office." I place my hand on his, stopping his advances. "I just put the finishing touches on it. Come on, you can finally have your space back. I know you've been dying for your office back."

He's only been down here for the last week, which isn't long, but I know he likes his own space.

I was supposed to start work on his office a month ago, but it ended up getting pushed back. Liam has been keeping himself busier at work, so he needed to be accessible.

"I'm dying to have you," he says huskily, letting his hand rise higher under my skirt, grabbing my bare ass.

“No, no. I need to show you first.”

He plants a kiss to the exposed skin of the inside of my legs. “If you must,” he groans. “Though I’d rather be tasting you again.”

“And you can, once I show you you’re office.”

Once I’m able to pull Liam off me, I drag him to his newly updated office. It was one of my favorite spaces to do. I didn’t give it a basic setup like I did all the others; I got to put a lot of his personality into it and add all the eclectic tastes he has.
