much.”

“What about the red haze?” I ask.

Abby furrows her brow. “What red haze?”

“It happened again?” Ashe asks.

“Whatever it is, it’s coming from Levi. I saw it leave his body.”

“An unknown ability,” Abby says. “Explain it to me.”

I bounce my pencil by its eraser. “It’s similar to the messages I receive only it hurts. It pushes on the inside of my head.”

“That’s what happened in the field,” Abby states.

“Yeah. So what is it?”

She shrugs. “Mind control, maybe?”

“But you don’t know for sure.”

“I’m sorry, Zeke, it’s never been mentioned.”

“Sage, how about you? Any insight from you and that encyclopedia of supernatural abilities brain of yours?”

“If it’s not mind control, I don’t have a clue.”

“So, it’s an unknown ability. Fantastic.”

“What else do you need to know, Zeke?” Sage asks, her attitude creeping back. “Are you prepping to go after one or both of them alone?”

“That would be really stupid of Zeke,” Tyce states, drinking his coffee while looking at me over the rim.

Instead of commenting and possibly starting another argument, I open my book and push it in front of Abby. “Then which of those abilities you mentioned is this?”

She moves closer to my drawings, examining both pages displayed. “When did you do this?”

“I haven’t slept yet.”

“You did this after we left your bedroom?”

“Yes.”

Ashe leans over her and stops her from turning the page. “This isn’t what just happened in the field.” He looks over at me. “What is this?”

“You tell me.”

“Future events?” He flips to the next page. “How long have you been able to do this?”

I take an unsteady breath. “Go back about two pages.”

Tyce stands and points to the page. “This is after Zeke took Levi’s staff.”

“You’re tapping into Levia,” Sage says with concern.

“I think so.”

“Or did you take her precognition?” Claire asks.

I shake my head. “I don’t think so. It’s not all the time.”

“That’s how precognition works,” Abby answers. She turns back to the page depicted with possible future events. “This is Ally. Is she with us or against us?”

“I’m sorry, Abby, I’m not sure.”

Ashe wraps his arms around her and nuzzles her cheek. “We’ll get her back.”

“You can’t promise me that.”

“We’ll do our damnedest to get her back,” Ashe reiterates.

Abby toys with the ends of his hair. “I can’t get Ally out of my head. I can always feel her through our connection. Yesterday, I felt her emotions stronger than ever before and it seemed as if she didn’t believe it was me when Levi addressed me.”

“How much do you want to bet that one of them said you were dead,” Tyce says.

“She’d never believe that. Besides, our connection goes both ways.”

“What if one of the Assassins has the ability to block you from her?” Sage suggests.

“That doesn’t make sense,” Abby answers. “If I’m blocked we’re both blocked.”

“Our abilities don’t fall into any certain category,” Ashe explains. “And they don’t always make sense. I would think that if someone can block another it may only be one sided.”

“It would explain why Ally hasn’t responded to me in some way, or fought to get back to me.”

“You gave her a reason to fight back now,” Tyce says.

“If she’s not careful, and she fights too hard, Levi won’t hesitate to kill her,” Abby answers.

Ashe wraps his arms around her. “She’s as smart as you, Abby. She’ll use her head before she attempts anything, especially, if she was lied to about you.”

“She’s alive for this battle.” She taps a finger onto the page. “We need to find out where and when this is, and get ready for it.”

“I can try and tap into Levia and find out where.”

“I don’t know about that, Zeke,” Tyce disagrees. “That’s also a direct link to Levi.”

“I have to agree with Tyce on this,” Ashe adds. “We alert Levi and they’ll come here now instead of later. We need time to prepare.”

“We need to know where and when so we can have the upper hand,” I argue. “There’s only one way to accomplish that and it involves Levia’s ability.”

“But that also means we have to remove protection and risk the Assassins invading us,” Abby states. “We aren’t the only ones who need the time, Sage needs it more.”

“Which is going swell,” I answer sarcastically. “Besides, protection was in place when I drew that.” I point to my book.

“You’re not just tapping into Levia,” Sage states. “You’re linked!”

I shrug. “Possibly.”

“Levi didn’t know you had his ability,” Ashe points out grabbing the carafe and refilling cups. “It’s possible they aren’t aware of this link—if that’s what this is.”

“But does it go both ways?” Tyce asks. “If Zeke is receiving what Levia see’s through her precognition, can she also see Zeke seeing what she sees?”

“That actually made sense.” Ashe returns the carafe to the coffee maker and leans back against the counter. “Abby, what do you think?”

She sighs. “I think Zeke has to be very careful, as does Sage. If something comes through, he draws it. I don’t think he should try to expand it or delve deeper to get more information. If they aren’t aware of this link, we can get ahead of them. But the minute Levia becomes aware of it, she may try and send false images, if she’s able to do that.”

Sage moves to stand directly in front of me and I lean back in my chair so I can see her face. “Zeke, I don’t want to argue with you, but I’m going to say what I need to say and you need to listen. You and I have to be on the same page here. We have to work together, all of us. You can’t take matters into your own hands anymore. You have to include us and make us aware of what’s happening, especially if I’m not privy to what you’re seeing. Are you willing to do that?”

“Wait.” Ashe leaves his spot at the counter. “What do you mean you’re not privy to what he’s seeing?”

“I don’t see everything Zeke sees, and he’s not sharing.”

Ashe presses his lips together. “What else don’t
