Risky Rockstar: A Hero Club Novel, стр. 59
Hayley straightens and runs a hand through her hair. “Busted.” She winks.
“I need a new fucking band. One that doesn’t cock-block me at every opportunity.”
She laughs and hops off the desk, kissing me on my cheek before she heads to the door. “I’m gonna go help everyone pack up.” Hayley swings the door open. “Hey, Keller, he’s all yours.”
Keller walks in the room with a couple of beers. “You got a minute?”
“I do now.” I arch a brow.
He hands me a beer and walks over to the desk. Setting his bottle down, he sits but immediately stands up and rubs his hands on his jeans.
I laugh. “I didn’t fuck her on the desk, Kel.”
“You almost fucked her on the stage.”
I roll my eyes and rub the condensation off the bottle with my thumb. “Things got a bit intense, but I wasn’t going to go any further.” At least I hope not. All I could think about for a brief moment was being inside her. “The fans loved it though.”
“That’s why I’m here. Kade, do you really want to start something on tour you can’t carry through?”
I frown. “What do you mean?”
“With Hayley, that little side act. If you do that here, you know you have to do it everywhere, and what if things…you know…change between the two of you.” He takes a sip from his beer.
I walk over to one of the crates and sit down and take my own swig. “You mean like if we break up?”
Keller looks apologetic. “Yeah. You’ve only been together for a little over a month now.”
“Two months.” I count things as starting from our second kiss at the hospital.
He raises his eyebrow. “Alright, two months. And out of those two months you had how many dates? Kade, you’ve barely spent any time together outside of the tour. What happens if things change?”
I pick at the label, needing to do something with my hands because I’m starting to get frustrated. “What are you getting at?”
“I’m not trying to be a dick here, Kade. I just don’t think things should be so intense for you onstage in case things change. That’s all.”
“Things aren’t going to change.”
“I know you want to think that, but just be careful, man. Maybe keep the bit with the shirt coming off—there wasn’t a dry pair of panties in the house when you did that. Josh is busy fucking some groupie in the back of the bus because of that show. I’m just saying watch it is all.”
He comes over and holds his bottle out to me. I clink it with the neck of mine. “I better go tell Josh to wrap things up before Hayley gets on the bus. Fuck, when did I become the tour mom?”
“When Maddie couldn’t make it. She usually keeps us all in check.”
“Three more dates till we get home. I fucking miss her.”
“She’s not coming to Phoenix?”
“Nah, she got a huge order for some socialite. Apparently if she gets this one, she’ll be all set. I keep telling her she doesn’t have to do it, but baking is like my drumming to her. She can’t live without it.”
I nod and Keller leaves, leaving me to my thoughts. He’s right. Hayley and I haven’t really had much time to ourselves, but I plan to change that soon. As Keller said, we’ve got three more dates until we hit LA. And once we’re home, I’m going to make the most of it. Even if I do have to wait three weeks.
I just hope my balls can stand it.
Chapter 28
Hayley
Three weeks. Three very long, excruciating weeks performing with Kade on tour but never having a moment alone with him. Our performance continued much in the same vein as the one where I made him take his shirt off. The chemistry is sizzling and electrifying. The touching, teasing, caressing onstage for the fans to see has amped up the sexual tension between us. Most nights we leave the stage and we’re both panting, but there has been no opportunity to act on it. The tour bus has zero privacy, and even if there was, neither of us wants to fuck in a cubicle or the small room at the back of the bus that I occupy.
It’s been challenging living with the guys. Not that they aren’t a great bunch, and they do clean up after themselves, but even though they gallantly offered me the small room, there are still five people sharing one bathroom, and Josh has no qualms with bringing groupies onto the bus. His argument is that if he has to watch Kade and me dry humping onstage, we can put up with a girl or two. Sometimes at the same time. Don’t ask me how he squeezes them into the cubicles, but he makes it work. I personally think Josh owes us one for interrupting our hot hotel sex and for a simple bar fight too.
We arrived at the cop station to a very pissed-off Josh. It took Kade and Keller an hour and a half to convince the cops to allow them to post bail. Let’s say calling the cops geriatric sheep molesters wasn’t doing Josh any favors. Eventually he was released, and so was Shannon. Turned out Shannon’s manager was sweet on her and didn’t appreciate the attention Josh was paying her. The manager got handsy, and Josh punched him out. Luckily the bar owner dropped the charges, or goodness knows what would have happened with the tour.
Aside from the personal benefit of getting to touch Kade, things have been much better for everyone all round since he and I went public with our relationship. Fans are over the moon, and Sam and Benji couldn’t be more thrilled. Kade and the guys are also more relaxed because Benji doesn’t seem to be riding them as hard now that we’re the latest couple and album sales are off the charts.
